ABOUT ME

Ron. L. Davis

I was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, to Sidney and Sally Ladyman Davis. My father, Sidney, L. was a member of the Cameronian Scottish Rifles 1st Battalion during World War II. The 1st Battalion spent the entire time in the Far East distinguishing itself in the defense of India and as part of the famous Chindits who outwitted and eventually out-fought the Japanese in Burma. Later my father was posted to Kenya (in the wake of the Mau Mau Uprising), attached to the Kings African Rifles.

My formative years were spent in Newcastle before moving to Kenya at a very early age to join my father in Mackinnon Road along with my mother, two brothers, and sister. Mackinnon Road is a town in the Coast Province, of Kenya, located between Mombasa and Voi. After leaving Kenya our family continued their travels following my father to Berwick upon Tweed, then on to Glasgow and then to Lanark where the Cameronian Scottish Rifles were based. I was educated in Kenya, Glasgow and Barnard Castle, I spent five years in the Merchant Navy traveling around the world several times. Ten years in the army serving in Kenya, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Some of my novels reflect my early childhood and teenage years of the various countries I have visited. I still teach I.T. and creative writing in Northumberland and the Borders. Being busy with family and other commitments my writing was put on the back burner until recently when I started writing again. After leaving the Army I owned and operated a Restaurant and Cafe Complex for several years before retiring to take up writing again.

Over recent years, I have written novels in the various genre including Thrillers, Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Murder Mystery and two volumes of short stories, one of which is now available on Amazon Kindle, Book Tango, Kobo, and Smashwords, along with other of my novels. I plan to publish another four novels in the near future.
