Welcome to my author page. My name is Emmanuel S. John, MA, MSW, LCSW. I'm am an Author, Psychotherapist and Human Performance Consultant with nearly 40 years’ experience in the mental health, trauma and addiction treatment fields. I hope you find my books helpful.
My most recent offering, "Neglected Damaged Graced; Scars on the inside," is perhaps one of the deepest dives into childhood trauma and neglect that you will ever experience. Not because I tell my story or because my story is more tragic than others, it's because while telling you my story, I provide you with decades of clinical insight into how the things I endured affected me. I put you in the room with me as a child as I try to make sense of the neglect and abuse as it happens. I explain how a traumatized child processes multiple events of abuse and neglect and how those events made me a very dangerous person, both to myself and others. I describe my journey from that dangerously anti-social teen to a deeply aware, enlightened and passionate healer. I hope join me in that journey but I caution you the experience is very emotional. My purpose for writing “Neglected Damaged Graced” is simple. I want you to have proof that no matter how deep our emotional wounds may seem and no matter how ugly or haunting our scars may be, emotional recovery is possible.
My book “The Pacification of Humanity: Exposing the Ideological Contagions" is a look into the darker, sometimes taboo side of popular culture and social manipulations. It is an examination of how things like politics, religion, media bias, educational indoctrination and propaganda mold our world views without our knowing it. It gives you the insights necessary to find the real truth no matter how deep it may be hidden.
I’ve written two books for the people with addiction in the family. “Addiction: Am I Powerless” (Self-Assessing, A User's Guide to the Truth,) is a companion book to "Addiction: Why They Use" (A Handbook for Anyone Who Loves an Alcoholic or Addict). They work separately or together to help you and your family overcome the devasting illness of addiction. Both have been written with a sincere desire to lessen the suffering for those persons who struggle with questions about substance use disorders. Having worked in every modality of abstinence-based treatment I know you questions and I have your answers.
Join me. Helping people and families has been my life's work. I am not an academic. I work on the front lines with people who struggle; people who really need help. I write books to save people time and money on treatment but I encourage you seek professional help to resolve the issues I alert you to. Feel free to contact me with any question you have.
Peace and Happy Days!
