Sara Goldsmith Pascoe

Sara Goldsmith Pascoe, PhD, worked as a neuroscientist before a decades-long career as a clinical psychologist. There she spent much of her time alongside young people healing from emotional wounds – work that aligns with her own healing journey. Her science background gave her the skills for the historical research and informs the book's treatment of schizophrenia, the illness Raya's afraid she may have inherited from her mother, and the reason she was placed in care.

Having grown up in Edison, New Jersey, in the US, Sara now lives on the south coast of England with her husband and cat, who – unlike Oscar – has yet to utter a word. Over the years, they've welcomed numerous language students and others from abroad into their home – a small, organic way of growing their own found family. Being a Witch is her second novel.
