Michael S. Fey

Dr. Michael S. Fey is the author of nearly 30 books on Morgan and Peace silver dollars, including nine Kindle guides co-authored with Leroy C. Van Allen covering attribution, pricing, and cherry-picking rare die varieties — among them the bestselling The Complete Virtual Guide to Pricing Your Morgan Silver Dollars.

Dr. Fey was elected to the Board of Governors of the 26,000-member American Numismatic Association (2005–2007) and serves on the ANA Advisory Board. He was Senior Instructor of the ANA Summer Seminar at Colorado College for more than 20 years, served on the ANA Consumer Protection Committee, and loaned rare silver dollars for display in the ANA Museum. He is perhaps best known as co-author — with his mentor, silver dollar expert Jeff Oxman — of The Top 100 Morgan Dollar Varieties: The VAM Keys. He has discovered more than 50 new Morgan dollar varieties, plus dozens more in other U.S. and foreign series, and has served as a consultant to the major grading services (PCGS, NGC, ANACS). His awards include the ANA's Glen B. Smedley Award and three ANA Presidential Awards.

Dr. Fey received his Ph.D. from Cornell University, holds two patents, and previously held technical and brand-management positions including Procter & Gamble.
