Siraj Mufti

Siraj I. Mufti, Ph.D. (1973, University of Arizona) is a retired faculty from the University of Arizona and a retired chaplain from the U.S. Department of Justice.

The tragedy of 9/11 affected Dr. Mufti greatly; almost every week he wrote articles on its grave consequences for Muslims in general, and American Muslims in particular. The articles were published in local daily newspapers, online Islamic websites such as Islam Online, Islamicity.com, and iviews.com, and the websites of American Muslim organizations. They have also been printed in magazines such as American Muslim of the Muslim American Society (MAS) and Message International of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA).

First published as an e-book, the book entitled “Muslims At The Crossroads” is the result of these articles, revised and updated with the addition of extensive references.

Needless to say, except with notable exceptions, the subject matter covered by the book was either deliberately ignored or received little attention by the U.S. leaders and the mainstream media, which instead sought to scapegoat Islam and Muslims.

Therefore, this book provides an essential ingredient for supplying the information the American public is sorely missing and needs to know urgently for correcting their affairs.

Dr. Mufti is currently active in interfaith work with several faith groups including Christians and Jews. He is a director of the International Center for Peace and Justice in Tucson.

As a former chaplain, he also works with inmates in various federal and private prisons in Arizona.

Dr. Mufti lives with his wife Bebe in Tucson (Arizona). They have two daughters; one lives in Huntington Beach (California), and the other in Seattle (Washington) with two granddaughters.
