Janice Russell, PhD: author, feminist, educated professional of working-class provenance, Algarvophile, pigeon widow, breast cancer survivor, matriarch, lefty, creative writing tutor, ex-social worker, artist and hippie was born in post-war inner city Birmingham.
She started writing at the age of five, and has only got better since then! When not writing intelligent fiction, she writes and delivers intelligent learning and development.
Her first novel, 'Keeping Abreast', was based on her own experience of surviving breast cancer. Her second, 'A Waste of Good Weather', is a racy pigeon-fancier story, possibly the first of its genre. She is currently working on the Izzie Childs trilogy, set in the Algarve and beginning with 'An Algarve Affair'.
