I worked for nearly 30 years in law enforcement as a Special Agent with the U.S Treasury Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. I spent much of my career conducting covert investigations, undercover operations where the criminals didn't even know they were being investigated until they felt the cold metal cuffs on their wrists. My law enforcement career was mostly fast-paced, buy/busts, raids and surveillance including wire taps and sophisticated methods of trailing criminals. I also was the commander of our SWAT team and have experience with hostage and barricade situations. I had the honor of working with the Secret Service on various dignity protection details. I use these experiences to bring realism to my writing. My readers enjoy the rare behind the scenes look from the perspective of a writer who has spent years on the streets. The stories, while fiction, flow naturally and are largely based upon events and a composite of characters that I encountered. After the gritty life on the streets, I enjoy making up the stories and the endings. I hope you enjoy the Doc Martini series.
