I'm a primary care physician, writer, and lifelong collector of stories and memorable quotes.

I've worked and taught in San Francisco, Boston, Detroit, Las Vegas, and Miami; directed the medical section of the Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic; spent decades in private practice; helped run Doctors Ought to Care, a physician group dedicated to keeping kids from starting nicotine; managed the Haight-Ashbury Switchboard supporting homeless people; and provided medical support at rock concerts and festivals.

I've accumulated too many stories, interesting quotes, and bad jokes, and now appreciate how unpredictably people, including me, navigate life.
