I’m a cowgirl in Central California where the real happy cows are. My house is smack dab in the middle of my ranch and there’s nothing I like better than drinking a cup of coffee in the morning and listening to my cows munch on the grass. I’m a professional runner, and by that I mean I run around my house chasing my toddler, running errands and running my household. My husband has the easy job!
When I’m not being a mom I enjoy being a nerd. I’m addicted to all things Joss Whedon. I wish I knew The Doctor and rode around in the TARDIS. I harbor a secret love of Star Trek and a childhood infatuation with Bruce Wayne. I like to sing loud and badly in the car to my Boston Station on Pandora and I have a weird obsession with lip balm. I watch movies with my friends who live across the country and get a perverse kick out of those mean ecards.
But the nerdiest of all is my voracious appetite for books. Ever since I was a kid I was reading everything I could get my hands on. I was reading adult fantasy novels in fourth grade, beginning with Piers Anthony and spiraling out to Anne McCaffrey, J.K. Rowling, Mercedes Lackey and Robert Jordan. I’m still positive I am the only kid who was grounded from their books when I got in trouble and it’s still the worst form of punishment I can endure. My love for the paranormal started early as well. I loved watching werewolf movies like Silver Bullet and An American Werewolf In London and that carried over into my reading choices, but it was really Charlaine Harris and Patricia Briggs who inspired me to write my own paranormal romance novels.
Ever since Jr. High when I attempted to write my first book—a sad version of the Robin Hood story that shall never see the light of day—I dreamed of becoming a real author. I love cracking open a book and, for those few hundred pages, escaping into another world, living a different life and letting my imagination soar. That is what I hope to give to my readers: a small vacation from their lives where they can be entertained, absorbed, laugh and maybe cry. I want to do what so many wonderful authors have done before me and make my readers happy, if only for a few hundred pages.
So thank you for letting me live my dream. Thank you for reading my paranormal romance novels, for loving my main characters and hating the bad guys, for being so amazing with your reviews and warm, encouraging comments. Thank you.
