While working as a teacher in Paris, the author began to imagine the structure of the 10-volume "La Porte Saga" and unknowingly invented a new literary genre: THE PUZZLE THRILLER. The first volume, entitled "La clairière du Lion", was published in November 2007, and was an immediate success. The press hailed the audacity of the tale, combining three stories over three different centuries, as well as the subtlety of the plot, and headlined: "And what if he was the French Dan Brown?"

Prolific and passionate, the man recognized as the master of the "puzzle thriller" has become one of France's favorite novelists and, because he's close to his readership, one of the most popular. He has already published 15 novels, including eight volumes of his "La Porte" saga. The current craze around the "ALD phenomenon" is such that the C8 channel dedicated a three-part special to him on Halloween evening, October 31, 2017 (for his novel "La fabuleuse histoire de Jack O'Lantern"). The author has surrounded himself with creators from all walks of life for his covers and illustrations, such as MARVEL USA artist Mattia de Iulis. In October 2012, he embarked on a book signing tour for the release of "13 crimes de Théodem Falls", a novel written alongside French actor Jean Claude Dreyfus (Un long Dimanche de fiançailles, Jean Pierre Jeunet's Delicatessen), offering him the title role of the murderer in his work. The handsome writer was the special guest on the France Télévisions TV news program for the simultaneous international release of volumes 6 and 7 of the saga, a week in which his atypical career will make the front page of several French magazines.

Already 500,000 readers on every continent have opened the saga. His 15 novels, purely addictive "page turners", have gone beyond the borders of France, reaching the USA, Canada, Reunion Island, Belgium, Italy, Spain and Switzerland, not forgetting Sweden and Poland, where huge communities of fans have been built up. Aside from his literary passions, because he is passionate about words and communication, the author has been involved in his other passion, teaching modern languages, for over twenty years, as well as in charity work for the homeless (founder of the "1 Jour Spécial pour Toi" operation, which takes place every winter) and operations to combat women's cancer (Pink October). Following the success in early 2023 of the eighth volume of his phenomenon saga LA PORTE, Anthony-Luc Douzet is preparing to publish his sixteenth novel, volume 1 of his "ARSÈNE LUPIN" trilogy and a new "Swedish nordic noir" trilogy, the title of which is being kept secret for the time being.
