Beginning her career at BBC TV London, Nicky has worked as freelance costume designer and stylist across many genres from television to photographic stills and adverts. She has worked with a multitude of talented presenters and artists, working regularly for years with some.

Alongside this Nicky has built up the company known as "Vintage Labels", an extensive archive based in North London, of women's wear from the twentieth century. It is used regularly by other costume designers and stylists and frequently sourced for inspiration by notable design teams from the British high street. Her privately owned garments have been seen in prestigious productions such as the BBC drama "Burton & Taylor" that won a BAFTA for costume and the stylish Peroni advertising campaigns set in the 1960s. The high street is constantly full of designs that have been sourced from her studio.

Nicky has recently been commissioned to author several books by Thames & Hudson on different aspects of vintage fashion, all of which have been published internationally. The last, "Vintage Fashion Complete" published in the autumn of 2014 at £50 in no less than 6 different countries. Her first two books "Scarves" & "The Printed Square" saw a collaboration with Oasis Stores, a range on silk that sold out within weeks.
