J.R. Sparlin

J.R. Sparlin is the author of two books for young adults, The Court Wizard and The Sea at Mughain. Her short stories and poems for children and adults have appeared in a number of publications, including Renaissance Magazine, Heroic Fantasy Quarterly, Every Day Fiction, The Midwest Quarterly, and Flint Hills Review. She is the recipient of the inaugural 2012 Clare Vanderpool Work of Promise Scholarship, awarded by the Kansas chapter of the Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators, and a Letter of Merit for Poetry in the 2007 SCBWI Magazine Merit Awards. She lives in Wichita, KS with her husband and cats.
