Sandra A. Krasovec

Sandra is a professor in the Packaging Design Department at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. With over twenty-five years of experience in brand and packaging design, she has been instrumental in developing curriculum and creating a network between students, alumni, brand design firms and the packaging design industry – including consumer products companies, packaging materials manufacturers and printers. She has a special focus on design education and methodology with sustainability as an integral part of the creative process and advocates the value of aligning business strategy with sustainable design. She is also a partner in the design advisory firm designPRACTICUM, helping companies integrate design thinking and design methodology into best practices for a competitive business advantage. She has written for Package Design Magazine and Beauty Packaging Magazine, has presented at LUXEPACK New York, is a materials juror for Material Connexion, and has been a judge for other industry competitions. She is co-author of Packaging Design: Successful Product Branding from Concept to Shelf, widely used as a text for introductory packaging design courses.
