A dozen years ago, I left the city and moved to the North Georgia mountains with my husband. We live in a wooded area with quite a few domestic animals as well as many wild ones that we see frequently just outside the house, often right on our property.
Since I live remotely, I freelance for a living. As a journalist I write, edit and copy edit for a variety of clients including magazines, websites and medical book publishers.
My bachelor's degree in journalism comes from the Univeristy of Missouri School of Journalism. (Go Tigers.) And my adopted university is Georgia Tech (Go Jackets).
I spent 18 years working for Atlanta Business Chronicle where I edited a variety of publications including the Chronicle; Atlanta NOW,a tourism magazine; Counterpart, a women's business magazine; and ChopTalk, a fan magazine all about the Atlanta Braves (another favorite team of mine).
I have edited a non-fiction book, "It's For You: Thirty-One Years of Our Life on the Georgia Tech Campus," written by Jim and Gay Dull. Jim was a long-time dean of students at Tech, and the book is a charming remembrance of those years.
I wrote the 125-year history of Saint Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta and more news and feature stories than I could ever remember.
"Junior Dragster Dreams: How Sam Found is Own Ride," is my first work of fiction.
