William R. Benner, Jr.

William R. Benner, Jr. is co-founder and CTO of Pangolin Laser Systems. As CTO, Benner is in charge of all hardware and software, as well as research and development on new products. Under the leadership of William Benner, Pangolin Laser Systems has become a multi-national organization with offices in the United States, China and Central Europe.

Mr. Benner is author of the book "LASER SCANNERS: Technologies and Applications" and co-author of the best-selling books "OSCILLATING MOTORS", "The Success Secret", "Game Changers", "Win!", and "The Only Business Book You'll Ever Need" and has also been published in the IEEE, SMPTE Journal, The Laserist, US Tech magazine and Motorola's Embedded Connection magazine.

Mr. Benner also holds nearly 60 Patents, and has received personal letters of commendation from President Ronald Reagan and Florida Governor Bob Graham.

In addition to having received more than 40 honors and awards for technical achievement, Mr. Benner's products are used by some of the best-known companies in the world, including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, DreamWorks, Boeing, Samsung, and Lawrence Livermore Labs. Through his commendable work, Mr. Benner strongly influences the future direction of the laser and display industries.

Beyond his work at Pangolin, Benner holds the highest class of Amateur Radio license (callsign N4WRB) and has also served on several boards as well as serving for seven years as ILDA’s Technical Committee Chairman. He also contributed expertise to outside companies including Bliss Lights, Cambridge Technologies, RMB Miniature Bearings and many others.

In 2012, Benner started a division of Pangolin called ScannerMAX, dedicated to the development, licensing and manufacture of three new types of galvanometer-based optical scanners, which deliver state-of-the-art performance at the lowest possible price.
