Every author tells you that they've written since they were a child and i suppose I'm no exception. But i think we were all readers first and writers second. I really started getting into writing around twelve, inspired by Dr Who books, Tolkien and an evolving interest in Role Playing Games.

My creative efforts then got hijacked by my gaming and everything I wrote related to role playing. Then came along a career, in medicine, and a family, and writing sort of took a back seat.

So six years ago a friend threw me a challenge. I'd been scribbling some stuff about old DnD characters and reading more and more fantasy books. He said why not create something new, something from scratch. Create something thats a mix of fun, action, drama, humour, nothing too dark but nothing too light. And off I went.

The end product is the Prism series. Originally devised as a trilogy, the work expended to become a six book series, of which 5 are now released. The series is virtually complete, with book six hopefully being released late 2015. It's published on the Myrddin Publishing Group label. I've also got several short stories as well as a blog and website on the go. All that and a family and a career! Thank God for the power of red wine.
