IIN NOVEMBER 2023, AFTER SOME DISCUSSION WITH OTHERS WITH A SIMILAR INTEREST, I DECIDED TO REPUBLISH WITH A FEW CHANGES AND IMPROVEMENTS. BECAUSE THIS IS A FAMILY HISTORY BOOK, NEW INFORMATION AND UPDATES ARE INEVITABLE, AND UPDATES WILL OCCASIONALLY BE MADE IN THE FUTURE. IN 2023, IN RECENT MONTHS, I HAVE MADE A CONCERTED EFFORT AT EDITING, CULMINATING IN ANOTHER REPRINT. MY APOLOGIES TO THOSE WHO PURCHASED EARLIER COPIES.

Having been bitten by the writing bug, I went on to research and produce my next publication, "England's Last Wolf And The Egg Pudding Stone", though the spirit of Lakeland is the true author of this latest book, I simply put down the words, with the help of those who have gone before me of course. This book includes a small section charting the history of the Washington family, who were obviously descended from a strong line of "hunter gatherers", who grasped and improved every opportunity presented to them, tracking the "Woolly Mammoth" all the way to America and their ultimate glory, a true inspiration.
