Erika Engstrom

Erika Engstrom (Ph.D., University of Florida) serves as director of the School of Journalism and Media at the University of Kentucky. She likes to watch a lot of television, which informs her research on gender, weddings, and religion in the mass media. Her work centering on women and the mass media includes academic journal articles on women's music and radio, women television news anchors, sexist advertising, and, of course, weddings. Her big Hollywood break came when she appeared on the national game show "Jeopardy," and if you don't blink, you can catch a glimpse of her in the 2007 film "Georgia Rule," starring Jane Fonda.
