Sally Clark

Sally Clark was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1954. She and her husband, Mike, owned a restaurant in Fredericksburg, TX, from 1985 to 2001, where they still reside. After they retired, Clark discovered she had stories to tell and poems to write. Her creative nonfiction has appeared in more than 30 anthologies, journals, magazines and newspapers. Her award-winning adult poetry has appeared in more than 50 publications and over 600 of her children's poems have been published in print and online.

Where's My Hug?, (Ideals Children's Books) is her first published children's book and the proud winner of a 2015 Silver Award from Moonbeam Children's Book Awards. Her children's stories and poems have won first place awards from San Antonio Writers Guild, Abilene Writers Guild, Green River Writers, Alabama Writers Conclave, and Tennessee Mountain Writers.

Her adult poetry has won first place in the Willamette Writers Kay Snow Poetry Award, the Blue Mountain Arts Poetry Card Contest, the Northern Colorado Writers Association Poetry Award, the San Antonio Writers Guild Poetry Award, the Abilene Writers Guild Poetry Award, and many others. In 2018, one of her poems was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
