Jack Mallard

Jack Mallard received his Law Degree from Woodrow Wilson College of Law, and was admitted to the Georgia State Bar in 1966. He began his 40 year career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Atlanta Office in 1967, and retired in 2007, after serving as Chief Assistant District Attorney in Cobb County, and Special Prosecutor in Cobb and Forsyth counties. During his career, he prosecuted hundreds of high profile and capital murder cases. Jack was honored to serve on the Georgia Organized Crime Prevention Council (1972-1981) and Board of Directors, National District Attorneys Association (1990-1998); and was selected by his peers as Assistant District Attorney of the Year (1995). He was recipient of the Governor's Public Safety Award (2001). After retirement, Jack wrote and published his first book, "The Atlanta Child Murders: the Night Stalker" (2009), based upon his prosecution of Wayne B. Williams in 1982. His second book, "Two Faces of a Serial Rapist," about a case he prosecuted in 1992 was published in 2012. Jack was born and reared on a farm near Jesup, Georgia - one of eight children. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He and wife, Becky, now live on Lake Lanier in retirement.
