Bijhan Nasser-Faili

I am the author of “The Grammar of Isaiah: A Selective Commentary on the Writings of the Old Testament Prophets,” and “Disputed Topics In the Theology of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints”. I am also the publisher of my special edition of the “Lectures on Faith” by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I am a self-publisher, and I publish under the imprint: “Antum Publications”. The word Antum is an obscure word that occurs in the Book of Mormon once, and is associated in the book with the “hill” in which the “gold plates” of the book were deposited—hence the concept behind the design and motif of my publishing logo, which is a registered trademark.

My first book, “The Grammar of Isaiah: A Selective Commentary on the Writings of the Old Testament Prophets,” takes an innovative approach to the study of the Old Testament prophets, focusing on Isaiah; and draws its inspiration from the Book of Mormon and other modern scriptures of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as well as from the Bible. It was first published in 2010.

My second book, “Disputed Topics In the Theology of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” was originally published under the title of “Essays on Doctrine: Nine Articles Relating to the Doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” in February 18, 2016, and went into three editions. In 2021 I decided to publish the next edition of the book under a new title. It contains nine theological essays, or articles written at various times during the past 45 years, three of which were previously published in a journal, and the remainder mostly published on the Internet. The essays are intended to be thought-provoking and touch on controversial issues. The contents of this book is also freely available online at https://bnfaili.blogspot.com.

My third publication is my special edition of the “Lectures on Faith” by Joseph Smith Jr., the Prophet and founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It consists of seven lessons, or lectures on theology, given before a “school of elders” held in Kirtland, Ohio, in the winter of 1834-35, and published for the first time in the first edition of the Doctrine and Covenants in 1835. It originally formed part of the canonized scriptures of the Church, and continued to be so published until it was removed from the canon in 1921. Since then it has been republished several times independently by various publishers, none of which in my opinion have been entirely satisfactory, and do justice to the inspired nature of work—hence my decision to publish a special edition of it independently myself. I personally consider this book to be divinely inspired, although not currently part of the canonized scriptures of the Church.
