Ed Wall

Ed Wall is a Scottish landscape architect and urban designer whose work focuses on the design and public nature of urban landscapes, with an emphasis on spatial justice. His writing on Post-landscapes and his subsequent book The Landscapists have expanded definitions of landscape practice.

Ed Wall is Academic Lead (Chair) of Landscape Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Greenwich and co-director of the Advanced Urban (AU) research group. He is a Visiting Professor at Polytechnic University Milan, and in 2017, was City of Vienna Visiting Professor: Urban culture, public space and the future–urban equity and the global agenda (SKuOR/TU Vienna). He is founding editor of Testing-Ground: Journal of Landscapes, Cities and Territories, external examiner at the Architectural Association, and in 2021 was appointed a Design Council Specialist Expert. Ed trained in Manchester (MMU) and New York (CCNY) before completing a PhD at the Cities Programme (London School of Economics and Political Science).
