Sylvia A. Pamboukian

Formerly a pharmacist, Sylvia A. Pamboukian is currently a professor of English literature at Robert Morris University near Pittsburgh specializing in Victorian literature and the medical humanities. She received a Ph.D. in English literature and Victorian Studies from Indiana University. Her recent publishing includes essays entitled "Delicious Death in Agatha Christie" for Hektoen International and "Sugar and Spice: Cooking with the Girl Poisoner" in Food, Feminisms, Rhetorics.

Dr. Pamboukian teaches courses in British literature, literature and medicine, detective fiction, and a study-abroad course called "Magic, Medicine, and Harry Potter" which takes American students to England to explore the sites associated with the Harry Potter films as well as the historical sites that inspired Rowling's depiction of witchcraft, herbology, and potions.
