Dr. Garn Christensen

Dr. Garn Christensen reported to his first board of directors at the wise age of 24. The three member school board consisted of smart, hard working cattle ranchers who sat around a kitchen table in a ranch house, drank cold beer, and directed him in the operations of their community's one-room K-8 school. The ranchers continue run one of the largest cattle operations in the West and the one-room school still exists. At the time this book was released, Dr. Christensen works as a school district superintendent in a much larger school district and also serves on various other non-profit community and foundation type boards.

Along the way Garn earned a PhD involving policy work and is actively involved at both the state and federal level on legislative issues. His colleagues sometimes call him one page Garn, as he believes if you can't summarize something in one page, you probably don't understand the issue.
