Julie Walters

Julie Walters published her first work, a short story, in 1961 while taking a Writing for Children Course at San Jose State. It was published by Ave Maria Press in her home town of South Bend, Indiana, where she presently resides. She and her husband, Clem, are founding members of an ecumenical, charismatic community, the People of Praise. They have four children and 11 grandchildren.

She has written articles, a scripture column and books for adults and children. Her family returned to South Bend in 1962. Her first book, God Is Like...Three Parables for Children was published by Ave Maria Press in 1974. Considered a classic by some, it was in print for 20 years and then published by Waterbrook Press (2000).
