Darlene Hodge has been a writer and reporter for quite a longtime. Some have even, (jokingly?), suggested that her historical novels may have been written from first hand experience.
Though not pre-planned, the heroic characters in her books come from many different backgrounds: language, color, social. Since each of her books are historically accurate, some might suggest that they provide a pleasant, and easy way to absorb the past.
Hodge has a Black Belt in Tae Kwan Do, which she teaches. She recently earned a Master’s Degree that leans heavily to the area of history and, specifically to the history of nutrition with all its political ramifications.
She writes both fiction and non-fiction, almost always with a touch of humor.
"When someone tells me that they actually laughed out loud while reading certain humorous passages in one of my books, I try very hard to control the urge to shout, 'Yes! Mission accomplished.' ''
