Roger Hyam

Roger Hyam (1965- ) was born in Bristol in the West of England. After obtaining a degree in biological sciences followed by a masters he moved to Edinburgh, Scotland where he completed a PhD. He has since largely worked on the relationships between biodiversity and information technology - how we think about and communicate information about biological diversity.

Roger has had a long standing Buddhist meditation practice which has melded with his academic interest. The notion of identity, and our attitudes to its contingent nature, is integrally linked to the meditative spiritual path. In 2011 Roger completed a postgraduate certificate in Mindfulness Base Techniques and continues to work, study and sit in Edinburgh where he lives with his family.
