From age ten, Winnie Kaetzel knew she would be a missionary. Her dream came true in 1957 when she sailed for Laos with her husband and young son as missionaries with The Christian and Missionary Alliance. Sharing the Good News in a strange tonal language and raising a family in an alien culture while war spilled over the eastern mountains from Vietnam was an exacting task. Bending With the Bamboo describes the exhilaration of building God's Kingdom cross-culturally and how that experience shaped the Kaetzel's personal lives.
