Carlos Cooper

Residing with his family just outside Nashville, TN, Carlos Cooper is a former Marine and graduate of the University of Virginia.

Q: Why did you start writing the Corps Justice novels?

A: I wanted to give back. Specifically, I wanted to write books that my Marines would read. I think that most Marines want a book that's engaging, has solid patriotic characters and the story moves along quickly. Writing about Cal and his buddies lets me give back to Marines in a fun way. It's amazing how many readers relate to the cast.

Q: What do you say to readers who think your novels lack sufficient detail?

A: Like I've told a lot of readers, in the beginning I decided to not go the route of some of MY favorite authors. I love historical fiction, but I know that it's too heavy for a lot of readers. I wanted readers of all levels to be able to read my books and not get bogged down. I create stories that keep the reader reading...period.

Q: What are you planning for Cal and his gang in upcoming novels?

A: Without giving away all the good stuff, I will say that the SSI team will be threatened both externally and internally. You'll have to keep reading to find out how it'll happen.
