Katy Endruschat Goebel was born in Bremen, Germany. She
is a university-graduate historian with a teaching degree for
secondary schools in history and German. In addition, she
is the successful organizer of several websites devoted to World
War II and postwar history.
The author has been interested in vintage attire and fashion
since her teenage years, and in the 1990s actively started
collecting and historically researching civilian clothing, shoes
and accessories from the 1930s-1940s era. Spurred by an interest
in the achievements of World War II American servicewomen
and the appeal of their military uniforms, her research was
extended to encompass the personal uniform collection shown
in the Women for Victory book series. The long years studying
World War II fashion styles have enabled authentic recreation
in the overall look of the modeled uniform outfits with correct
hairstyles, make-up, accessories, and typical wartime poses.
Katy Endruschat Goebel lives with her husband and son in
Wuppertal, Germany.
