Drienie Hattingh

DRIENIE HATTINGH is an award-winning author whose work spans decades and encompasses multiple genres.

       Drienie has been a newspaper columnist, a magazine writer, a short story author, and a contributing writer to the Chicken Soup for the Soul series and several St. Martin’s Press Christmas anthologies. She has authored the novella, A Glass Slipper for Christmas, and the acclaimed historical fiction novel, Forever Friends.

      Drienie is also a publisher and editor of numerous anthologies, including the Tales from Beyond series, The Best Worst Christmas Ever, Fleeting Encounters, The Year We Stayed at Home, Written in the Stars, and Coming to America, which won the LUW Gold Quill Award.

        Drienie loves encouraging authors to write and tell their stories and is delighted to publish their stories in her heartfelt anthologies.

      Hailing from South Africa, Drienie is American by choice. She immigrated to the United States in 1987, along with her husband, Johan, and their three children, settling in Minnesota. She has also made her home in Eden, Utah. She and Johan now live in Gig Harbor, Washington.

        Drienie enjoys spending time with her family, including her two grandchildren. A knitting enthusiast, she creates custom garments for friends and family and is involved in various charitable endeavors. She has knitted hundreds of sweaters for the Knit for Kids program and, most recently, created pocket scarves for 300 underprivileged children.

      You can find her sipping tea in her garden or at a local café, mingling with book lovers and fellow knitters, or sitting on the beach with Johan at their vacation home in Rockaway Beach, Oregon, where she often gathers inspiration for her next novel.
