Frank Gerace Laruffa Ph.D.

Frank Gerace PhD currently teaches English to adult immigrants in New York at a CUNY college. He has served in Latin America in United Nations and host country Education and Communication Projects, and has taught in Bolivian and Peruvian Universities. These experiences inspired his first books.

His Book, "Comunicación Horizontal: Cambio de Estructuras y Movilización Social" was a key part of the emerging approach to Communication Studies in Latin America . His current works are:

After returning to the United States, Gerace worked at improving the reading of his adult students. He is convinced that knowledge of basic grammar, especially the parts of speech and sentence structure, will help new learners move faster towards writing good English.

El Dr. Gerace ha trabajado en en las universidades estatales y privadas de la zona andina, en los ministerios de educación del Perú y de Bolivia, y como consultor internacional en Guatemala y Ecuador en proyectos educativos de las agencias FAO y UNESCO de las Naciones Unidas.

Su libro, "Comunicación Horizontal: Cambio de Estructuras y Movilización Social" (Editorial Studium, Lima, 1975) fue pieza clave del planteo latinoamericano de las comunicaciones populares. Últimamente, se dedica a la enseñanza del Inglés a estudiantes inmigrantes en la Universidad LaGuardia Community College/CUNY en la ciudad de Nueva York.
