Susanne Jacoby Hale

SUSANNE JACOBY HALE, a former drop-out prevention teacher in a New York City high school, earned a master's degree from New York University in education and creative writing. She currently lives in South Florida with her husband. Shades of Gray is her debut novel.

Susanne Jacoby Hale and Timothy Hale met in college in upstate New York. They married in Manhattan where they lived at the time. Later they moved and raised three children in Florida, but came back to N.Y. so often, their kids learned to love it too. One of their daughters is even a real estate agent in N.Y.!

Susanne and Tim began writing about Molly and Magruder’s adventures when the news began reporting that New York was emptying during the pandemic. They didn’t want anyone to forget all the exciting and beautiful sites N.Y. has to offer, so they created the adventures of Magruder, which is the name of the red-winged blackbird that visited Tim’s childhood backyard every spring, and his new friend, Molly. Molly and Magruder Return to New York is Susanne and Tim's first children's book.

It is Susanne and Tim’s hope to remind readers that our cities can still be enjoyed safely.
