B. D. Toms

B.D. Toms is an independent author from Alexandria, Louisiana, writing Science Fiction and Mystery/Thriller novels and short stories steeped in the landscapes and atmosphere of the American South.

A vivid imagination and an adventurous spirit have shaped Toms's life from the start. Years spent exploring the South and entertaining friends with tales of unusual characters in familiar settings planted the seeds of a lifelong storytelling habit. That same restless curiosity motivated him to travel the world where he gathered the kind of firsthand experience that lends authenticity to fiction.

Toms attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana earning a B.A. in Psychology in 1995. From there, Toms pursued Graduate Studies at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, going on to teach History and Science in public schools across Northeast and Central Louisiana.

Though Toms's stories range across Science Fiction, Mystery, and Thriller, they share a common thread: every one of them is rooted somewhere in the South, where the settings feel as familiar and alive as the characters who inhabit them.

B.D. Toms roots are in Louisiana but now resides in Florida's Space Coast with family.
