Robert S. Wieder

Robert S. Wieder has written for numerous national magazines and is the author of "Ragtops: The Great American Convertible," "The Oakland A's: The First Twenty-Five Years," and "The Wannabe Guide to Classical Music." Since 2006 he has been the Senior Health Columnist for CalorieLab.com.

Bob for several years earlier in his writing career wrote a health advice column under the name "Dr. Oui" for Oui magazine (back when Hefner owned it, he is quick to add). He has also written extensively for Penthouse, and for Playboy, for whom he wrote the annual "Celebrity Christmas Carols" parodies.

In between his writing activities he put in a stint as a San Francisco-area stand-up comic.

During his college days at the University of California, Berkeley, Bob was editor of the legendary college humor magazine the California Pelican.

These days he concentrates on topical and political humor, as well as op-ed opinion pieces for the San Francisco Chronicle.

Bob works out of his home office in El Cerrito, California. In his spare time he maintains his blog, "Humor Me II," the successor to "Humor Me."

Bob's latest book is "115 Reasons Why It's Not Your Fault If You're Fat."
