John A. Feudo

John Feudo is an accomplished author, speaker and nonprofit professional. Currently the Vice Chancellor for University Advancement at UMass Lowell leading the school through its first-ever fundraising campaign, Feudo has spent 35 years in higher education and nonprofit management. Prior to joining the senior leadership team at UMass Lowell in 2015, he was Associate Vice President and Senior Development Officer at his undergraduate alma mater, Boston College. After graduating from BC, he became manager of membership and public relations for Toastmasters International, a nonprofit educational organization based in Santa Ana, Calif. He eventually sought to return to both the East Coast and the higher education environment and was named director of alumni field services at Tufts University in 1988. After five years at Tufts and having earned a master's degree in communication at Lesley University, Feudo was named associate vice chancellor for university advancement at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, overseeing alumni activities for the state's flagship institution. In 1999, he was named executive director of UConn's 175,000-member alumni association. While there, he not only reengineered the school's volunteer, reunion and affinity programs, he developed and led a $4.5 million campaign for alumni initiatives and coordinated the design and construction of a $3.7 million alumni center project. He returned to BC in 2006, building that alumni engagement program as the university moved into a $1.5 billion campaign. He left higher ed to become Chief Development Officer for United Way of MA Bay prior to returning to the education arena in Lowell. Feudo has taught, lectured and consulted for colleges, universities and nonprofits around the world.
