Antonio Gálvez Alcaide

Antonio Gálvez Alcaide (Barcelona, 1963) holds a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Barcelona, and professor of Spanish language and literature. He has published the novel El Paseo de los Caracoles (Alba Editorial, 1999) and the collection of Latin American–themed short stories Relatos del fuego sanguinario y un candor (Calambur Editorial, 1997).

In addition to these works, he publishes a wide range of titles under his own literary imprint, spanning fiction (Caliente, Como las víboras, El solitario, La niña aquella, Trenzado de homicidas, El informe del roedor, Cuentos agrios), memoir (Mi cuaderno gris, Dietario en Red 2004–2006, Dietario en Red 2007–2008), travel writing (Crónicas estivales, Desde Ávila), poetry (Falta el aire), journalism (Articulismo formal), and modernized adaptations of medieval and Golden Age Spanish classics (Milagros de Nuestra Señora, Danza General de la Muerte, Coplas a la muerte de su padre, Tres clásicos medievales, La Celestina, La vida de Lazarillo de Tormes, y de sus fortunas y adversidades, Don Quijote de la Mancha. As a columnist, he has contributed to the newspaper ABC. Some of his short stories have appeared in literary magazines such as Lateral, Blanco y Negro, and Turia.

In September 2006, he founded his own publishing label, Morfeo Editorial, which since January 2018 has been releasing his extensive literary work in print on a large scale. He currently divides his time between writing, teaching, and editing, and lives in the very heart of Barcelona.
