Certified life coach, career and business advisor, motivational speaker, writing and editing coach, journalism professor and leadership trainer, Glenn Proctor preaches resilience. The slogan for his company, REDDjobb LLC, says it all: "Energy Gets Opportunity"

Proctor spent 41 years as a journalist at news organizations around the country, retiring in June 2011 as the executive editor and vice president of the Richmond Times-Dispatch. The former Marine gunnery sergeant and Vietnam veteran shared in the 1987 Pulitzer Prize at the Akron Beacon Journal, judged Pulitzer Prizes five times and won NABJ's national Legacy Award in 2007, the same year he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He also received the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Black Chamber of Commerce's 2012 Member of the Year Award and NABJ's Region III 2016 Achiever of the Award.

A former visiting professor at Washington and Lee and Kent State universities and lecturer at Columbia, Northwestern, Virginia Commonwealth, Virginia State, University of South Carolina and dozens of other universities, he continues to present motivational conversations, women's leadership sessions and career transition and media strategy workshops for small businesses, business organizations and universities.
