A former firefighter, Louis sometimes feel as if he jumped from the fire into the frying pan when he took up writing as a means to fulfill his passion to create characters and worlds that he longed to inhabit or longed to avoid. He also plays bass guitar, though not as frequently—something’s gotta give when you write.
He is a recipient of a State of Florida Individual Artist Fellowship, his work has appeared in, among others, New Plains Review, The MacGuffin Magazine, and the anthologies Everything Is Broken, and Making Good Time. His first novel,
