Gary A. Lucas

Gary Lucas taught and researched for more than fifteen years in academia, mostly working in the areas of animal leaning and motivation. He then worked for over ten years as a human factors designer and systems engineer. It was here that he learned the value of analyzing and setting system requirements for the design of functional programming systems. He subsequently left this work to apply his psychology background and his systems engineering skills to the design of conscious mind. Dr. Lucas is currently a visiting scholar in psychology at Indiana University. He lives near Bloomington, Indiana, with five very conscious cats.
