Doug Welch

I've held a wide array of occupations, mostly technical, ending in my retirement as a Professor of Manufacturing Technology at a local community college. I've acquired a number of awards both for my professional career and my teaching. My experiences have been wide-ranging, including: U.S. Navy in Vietnam, robotics engineering technician in the aerospace industry, Publicity Chairman of the California Belly Dance Association, actor in a major motion picture, and Regional Chairman of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Somewhere along the way, I learned to sail and scuba dive, exploring mysteries and wonder, both on and under the Pacific ocean. I reside in Southern California along with my wife of thirty years, my mother-in-law, and an assorted herd of dogs and cats. I discovered writing as a retirement occupation, and wonder now why I spent nearly my whole life not pursing my passion.
