Donavan Hall

Donavan Hall grew up on a farm in rural Oklahoma and spent several years living in New Mexico and Texas. Eventually, he traveled to Baton Rouge where he completed a PhD in physics from Louisiana State University. He spent a number of years as a journeyman researcher before giving that up to become a full time writer. Presently, Donavan lives on Long Island with his family. For the last six years he's been writing about craft beer and brewing. He is the author of the "Long Island Beer Guide" and has written a series of "beer novels," the first of which is "A Year in Beer" (published in 2011) which tells the story of his first year as a "professional" beer writer. When Donavan isn't writing he's either coaching soccer or brewing beer at his nanobrewery.
