Les Raybould

I am a retired butler with a passion for writing. I have written four books based on my experiences in the noblest profession of all and how I dealt with the humiliations and tribulations heaped upon any unsuspecting butler.

I have endevoured throughout to stress the humorous side of my life as a butler in domestic service-as a butler without a sense of humour is about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

I set out to be the greatest butler since Jeeves but I was thwarted in that desire by the antics of dogs and children (W.C.Fields is my mentor) but most of all by the outlandish behaviour and impossible demands of the good ladies of the house. That said I did develop into a very good butler and I have met many amazing people along the way.

Some time ago I decided to venture out of my comfort zone as a writer and try something entirely different. To that end I have written four further books ranging from murder and intrigue on a tropical island to the travails of a country and western singer.

I have two books published on Kindle at present-the remining six will be available presently.Books already on Kindle are. WALK THIS WAY a young mans journey to become a butler in New York, and NOT ENOUGH GREEN a story of murder, intrigue and betting scams set against the backdrop of a lawn bowling club.

I now have four further books published on kindle.

ISLAND PARADISE. The story of a teenage girl's life on the Island of Nassau and of a real life event where an immocent man is tried for murder.

COUNTRY ROADS. The tale of a young dirt farmer from Texas who aspires to be a country music star. He does reach the top only to lose it all including his wife due to booze and drugs. After being released from prison where he was sent after a drug fuelled incident on his tour bus, he determines to put his life back on track. Eventually he manages to do so but re-gaining the love of his wife proves much more difficult.

THE ENGLISH DICTATOR AND HIS WIFE. Following a young man's determination to form a new radical political party in Britain. After years of struggle he succeeds and becomes a dictator. He has many battles with the right wing establishment and is eventually assassinated. His wife takes over but it ends in tragedy as after being kidnapped on a trip to Russia she begins the slow descent towards madness.

A BUTLER'S TALE. Based on my adventures and experiences as a butler of many years in the domestic service business. Humour takes its rightful place in this book as any butler without a sense of humour will forever be deemed as the one who couldn't hack it when the chips were down.

My remaining two books published are as follows:

A BUTLER AT LARGE. The life of butler Ray Lestor and his long suffering housekeeper girlfriend Mandy working together first in England and then in the US.Tragedy and despair enter their lives after a series of mishaps and Lestor unable to deal with them is incarcerated in hospital after suffering a severe mental breakdown.

FOREVER A BUTLER. Largely dealing with the new life Mandy has carved for herself after working for many years alongside her boyfriend butler Ray Lestor.Tragedy enters her life too after a love affair. Ray Lestor eventually makes an appearance but he is a broken man after his sojourn in a mental home.
