Rick Gosselin

Rick Gosselin is from Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan. He graduated from St. Ambrose High School and Michigan State University with a degree in journalism. He went to work as a sports writer, first for United Press International in Detroit, New York City, Kansas City (1973-1985), then as the Kansas City Chiefs beat writer for the Kansas City Star (1986-89), the Dallas Cowboys beat writer for the Dallas Morning News (1990-91), the NFL columnist for the Dallas Morning News (1992-2011) and finally a general sports columnist for the Dallas Morning News (2012-2016). He won the Bill Reed Award as the top student sports writer in the Big Ten in 1971. He was named the Missouri Sports Writer of the Year in 1980 by the National Association of Sportscasters and Sportswriters, and was enshrined in the writer's wing of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004. He has served 30 years on the Pro Football Hall of Fame selection committee and also votes on the Baseball Hall of Fame.
