Scott A. Meehan is a retired U.S. Army Major, author, educator, and seasoned global traveler whose career has spanned the world’s most intense geopolitical fault lines. From the shadowy streets of Cold War Berlin to the sun-scorched battlefields of Iraq, Scott served as both a combat officer and a contingency contracting officer—roles that put him at the intersection of diplomacy, war, and human connection.
Over a 25-year military career, Scott earned a Bronze Star, conducted high-risk missions in support of Special Forces operations, and provided critical intelligence that contributed to the capture of Saddam Hussein. Beyond the battlefield, his fluency in cross-cultural communication forged meaningful relationships that transcended conflict zones.
After retiring from active duty, Scott turned to education and storytelling, teaching history to young minds while continuing to write about leadership, faith, and the invisible ties that bind people across cultures. In Stone in a Sling, he shares the deeply personal moments—both harrowing and hopeful—that shaped his life and worldview.
Scott possesses a master’s degree in computer resources and information management, a Business Technology Procurement, and a B.A. in Education for grades 6-12. He lives in Florida with his wife, Trena, where he enjoys being a proud father and grandfather, mentoring veterans, and chronicling the untold stories that bridge worlds.
