Ronald A McQueen (sometimes just Ronald McQueen)

Born in 1951 in Scotland and educated at Edinburgh Art College and Strathclyde University. Worked as a freelance medical writer until obtaining a lecturing post in the Department of Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University and over the next several years published widely in the field, including several textbooks on research methods and statistics. At the same time I pursued an interest in fiction and published a number of Sci-Fi stories with the publisher, Robert Hale, and aimed at the Young Adult audience. On retiring from academic life I returned to my other love of writing and published the wartime drama, 'Cossack', the first in a trilogy of stories recounting the events leading to my parents meeting in Austria as the war came to a close. The background to these events was covered up by the governments of the US, Britain and Russia for many years after and it was a pleasure to finally tell the story. No spoilers though! The second book, 'Kaiserjaeger' was published shortly thereafter and the final in the series, 'The War and Hannah Thaller', completed in 2019. All now available on Amazon's amazing Kindle.

More recently I am following an interest in screenwriting and the screenplay for the Cossack story (under the title of 'The Last Cossack') is doing well on the film festival circuit, nominated finalist for many and winner of a few, including the Vertov Best Screenplay award at the Moscow Film Fest. Fingers well and truly crossed. And in an unusual (for me) departure, people might want to look out for a future horror movie with the title, 'Stitched up'. Now there's fun!
