Isaac Morris

I am a midwesterner, born and bred. My interests are books on just about any subject, although I prefer the truth that is found in fiction to much of the fiction found in much of what masquerades as truth. I have a Master's Degree in Religion from Butler University, and currently teach philosophy at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois.

My two novels, The Absence of Goodness and Along the River Road, deal with a subject that fascinates me: evil in the hearts of humans. There, paradoxically, is where we start to understand goodness. Just as, paradoxically, the closer we are to death the more we are live (a view I share with Tolstoy).

I maintain a book blog, "The Morris Chair," at http://themorrischair.com .
