Lou Morgan

Lou Morgan is a scriptwriter and award-nominated adult and YA author.

Her debut contemporary adult novel, For All This Time, a romance with a speculative twist, will be published by Penguin Michael Joseph in April 2027.

Her first novel, Blood and Feathers – an urban fantasy – was published by Solaris Books in 2012 and the follow-up, Blood and Feathers: Rebellion, was released in the summer of 2013. Both were nominated for Best Fantasy Novel at the British Fantasy Awards. Her YA horror novel, Sleepless, was published by Stripes / Little Tiger Press as part of their Red Eye horror series, while her standalone YA thriller The Opposite of You was published (also by Stripes) in early 2017.

She has written short stories for anthologies including Fight Like A Girl, Urban Mythic 2, Legends II: Stories in Honour of David Gemmell, A Carnivale of Horror, and Magic: An Anthology of the Esoteric and Arcane.

Lou has also been a regular writer for Big Finish productions, writing hour-long, full cast audio plays across the extended Doctor Who universe, including everything from Torchwood to stories for the fan-favourite Gallifrey range and for several Doctors, as well as the War Master.

Under the name Maggie Harcourt, she has written four YA romance novels: The Last Summer of Us (nominated for the 2016 CILIP Carnegie Award), Unconventional, Theatrical and The Pieces of Ourselves (shortlisted for the 2021 Sheffield Children’s Award).

Born and raised in Wales, she now lives in Bath with her family.
