Kelli Ra Anderson is a freelance journalist, author and speaker. Growing up in the United States Air Force, she graduated high school in England and earned an English degree from Grinnell College before beginning her writing career for the next 20 years. When her oldest son was diagnosed with autism in 2004, her articles began to focus on newfound passions of autism awareness, advocacy, faith, marriage and parenting.
Her memoir-devotional, Divine Duct Tape, (2012), explores a life lived in the daily tension of faith, parenting, and autism. With honesty and humor, readers are invited into a personal dialogue with God, asking real life questions, discovering unexpected answers, and realizing the ultimate desire is not the picture-perfect life, but a life lived in harmony with the One who truly knows us, loves us, and is with us, every step of the way.
Her second book (2018), Life on the Spectrum: Faith. Hope. Love. Autism. is a co-authored collection of parental stories featuring many distinct voices—mothers, fathers, black, white, asian, Jamaican—-sharing their real life journey with autism, faith and family.
Her articles have appeared in such publications as Christianity Today’s Leadership Journal, Today’s Christian Woman, and Focus on the Family. She has been a featured guest on multiple nationally broadcast radio programs and conferences over the years.
Kelli and Adrian, married 28 years, have three adult children, one very large goldendoodle, 6 chickens and two cats. They live in the far western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.
