Julio Gimenez teaches and researches academic writing in the disciplines. He has done research in disciplines such as business, engineering, applied linguistics, communication, nursing and midwifery. His work has appeared in international journals and edited collections. His book Writing for Nursing and Midwifery Students (Palgrave), the first research-based textbook on academic writing in nursing and midwifery, is now in its third edition, having become part of the reading lists in many nursing degrees in the UK. He has just co-edited a collection on teaching and learning academic English in turbulent times (Routledge). He is now working on a new textbook for teachers of English for the workplace to be published by Routledge.
